I’m new here and I intend to start tomorrow morning Monday 11th March. I’m 66 two stone overweight and very unfit. I’ve been reading about all the success stories and hope to be a graduate in the end. There is a cancer run in July here that’s 5 K and I would love to be able to take part in that, so here goes. I’m going early in the morning as I don’t really want to be seen first time out like puffing Billy and whichever way I go there’s a hill! I have got proper trainers ! Hope any other starters for tomorrow do well.

The best thing I can say is it’s harder to start than it is to keep going! After knowing I should do something for years about getting fit (I’m 51, overweight and haven’t exercised in years), I finally took the plunge yesterday and did my first W1 run. Yes, it was hard - but I used the app and it was really good. Managed to keep going - even through a hailstorm - and finished. It is the best feeling knowing that I finally took the plunge and did it and you’ll feel that way too. You’ve done really well making the decision to start!
I completed the first run today and I enjoyed it, yes I did really enjoy it. Here’s hoping run 2 will be enjoyable , I know it will get harder but it was good for my soul not to fail at the first hurdle. Best wishes for your first week, we can do it
Well done! Hot bath tonight, and remember to stretch off properly. If you don't, you'll get hit in the night by elves that make you ache, make your legs hurt and regret being active...
Personally I find radox muscle soak is nice for the after run bathing experience.
Hi again - thanks for your message on my first post. Clicked on yours and your dog is a BC! I note you're planning on doing a cancer run so that's another thing we have in common too. This thing is doable and like others here say it soon becomes enjoyable, promise.
