I have really astounded myself by getting to the end of week 3 relatively unscathed and feel fitter. But i guess ive hit the wall of ‘life getting in the way’. I was a day behind cos it was raining all day on Sunday. Degree commitments all day Monday. Did run 3 of week 3 on Tues. Should have started Week 4 yesterday but only spare time was 8.30pm and i am nervous of going out alone so late. Already its Friday and i havent started Week 4 yet.
My daughter, who is as fit as a butchers..., said as we are meant to run together today, ‘ well do the two runs back to back. Or do one in the morning and one in the evening (same day). I am thinking ‘GET ME OUT OF HERE’!! I dont want to wimp out but i dont feel i can do that. ☹️

Remember that you can flex the plan to suit life pressures, you dont have to stick rigidly to calender weeks.
You DO need to take at least one rest day between runs. If you sometimes have to take extra rest days for whatever reason, that is just fine! It just means it will take a little longer to finish the programme, but that is absolutely ok🏃🏻♀️🏃♂️
You won’t have lost any fitness with these small delays so don’t worry about that. And don’t push yourself too hard you’d be at risk of injury. I was lucky during c25k with only one illness causing a 4 day delay. But after graduation I went on holiday and have had a cold & 2 blooming stomach bugs in the last two months - and all three of those took me out for 4 or 5 days. I always run slowly (Japanese slow jogging technique) but after a gap I’m gentle and just do a 25 or 30 min run depending on how I feel. Then after a rest day get properly back in my groove. Life does just get in the way!
I have also adopted the japanese slow jogging and it has increased both my stamina and my faith in myself that its do able. I did worry initially that people might see me outside and titter about how slow i go. But now i dont care. Slow running is better than no running. And i do still ache after so i am moving muscles that i didnt know i had lol
So glad you’re doing this method - I love it! I’ve been adding duration to one run (after about 6 weeks of consolidation!) but can now run for 45 minutes! Don’t think that would be possible any other way!! Good luck with W4 - when you get a chance!!
I understand you can't always run when planned but do not do two runs in one day you could cause yourself in injury that will put you out of running for a lot longer it's up to you 😊
