W9R3 Postponed!

Can’t believe it, I was all set for graduation and then our son had flu in half term. Several desperate attempts at advising to “cover your mouth when your sneezing” were ignored and sure enough two days after W9R2, woke up and started sneezing then the aches and pains etc etc. I could probably have managed the final run yesterday or today but I kind of want to feel good when I do it after this long. Anyway, I think I’ll aim to do all three W9 runs next week and finish it properly. In the meantime just a pathetic post about man flu instead a graduation celebration :-)

If it’s any consolidation, which it probably isn’t, coughs and sneezes don’t spread diseases, you’re much much more likely to have acquired the flu from a door handle or a hug.

Nice gentle run first time back... symptoms go a couple of days before the virus is fully defeated.

Good tip about waiting a couple of days after symptoms have gone, thanks!

Very sensible - but you know the programme is only asking you to do one more run?...before you start your career as a graduate that is.

I’ve liked the community mentality of continuing after W9 as I’ve gone along so I figured I might as well do three runs within a week to end on in that spirit.

Very true, since the general idea is that you are going to keep running rather than hanging up your shoes and returning to the couch, and you clearly embrace that.

It's possible to come to grief in the worst possible way running too soon post flu (lost a very fit family friend that way) so you are very wise to hold off. Lots of people suggest just going out for a walk first and assessing how you are the next day.

All the best with it however you do it. Looking forward to that triumphant post x

Nooooo! Make sure you're properly well before doing your graduation run. Why repeat all of week 9? Do a gentle trial when you get back out there and see how you feel, then go for graduation. You need to be fit enough to handle the celebration afterwards too remember 👍😊
