Hip pain 😫

Im loving C25K, im on week 4 run 3, but ive developed hip pain in my right hip. Its not on the outside. It feels deep inside the joint. I did just think it would ease of if i took my runs at a steadier pace but no such luck. I really dont want to quit as im loving running. Which is mad as ive never ran in my life. Is there any stretched i can do to ease it off or anything i can put in place. I run on a combination of grass and paths around my local country park TIA

Hi Wibbly wobbly, I wouldn't run when there's pain. Might be best to get the GP to check it out. And there's an NHS strength and flex exercise programme which you might benefit from in the meantime. All the best to you

Definitely have it checked out before you run again. I tried to run through hip pain and ended up dislocating it. Five months of no running, pretty painful physical therapy and then doing the whole C25K programme from scratch again, plus missing out on a 10Krace I'd been looking forward to for almost a year....

Wishful thinking didn't persuade Hip to change the laws of physics and anatomy that day. 😊

During the run I thought "I don't WANNA stop, go away pain! "

What I heard back was "Twang!!! - and screw you!" 😂

Might be nothing, might be something but best get it checked imho.

Wishing you many happy miles in your future :)

Here’s hoping it’s a niggle, but go get it checked out.

Might be just your body getting used to running try taking ibuprofen if that fails see your doctor 😊

I often had an ache deep in my hip which I eventually worked out was due to tight glutes. It’s actually worse if I sit for too long, like in the car

Foam rolling does wonders for it and it’s may be worth trying before the doctors

Hi. I would go get it checked out by doctors.

I ignored hip pain deep in the joint for years... didn’t do myself any favours. Ended up having hip replacement surgery. Had I gone sooner I would’ve only needed keyhole surgery. Instead I shredded the cartilage within the hip joint by leaving it.

Don’t run on it until you’ve had it checked. Remember it could be something & nothing or it could be something that needs attention.
