Hey guys! What a fantastic day.

So, due to a couple of insane flights over the weekend I was forced to have three recovery days between R1 and R2 of week 4.

One good thing came from the weekend - I bought my self a new gadget - a Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music.

So this evening care along and off I toddled with my old Garmin, with Heart Rate Strap, and with the new Garmin for comparison.

Well, after a nice warm up walk, about half way through the first run section, I thought I was going to have to stop - my calves / Achilles’ tendons felt so sore and tight. I persevered through the section and went into the walking recovery section. Steadily throughout this section the tightness started to ease so I figured I’d keep going. Throughout the next couple of sections I felt better and better. By the end of it all, I felt absolutely fantastic! On top of the world even.

I’m really looking forward to next week and passing the half way point.

In comparison to R1 of the week, my time today was almost identical, so I think I was just having a bad session the other day.

Interestingly my new gadget lost the plot in the first KM. It told me I did a 9 minute kilometre, where I normally do a 12 minute km. looking at the trace, it had a bit of a fit sting my warm up section where I walk down a wide road lined with skyscrapers. I think it’s getting reflective issues. I’ll play with the settings over the next few runs and see if I can improve the trace/distance monitoring.

I bought it so that I don’t have to take my phone with me just for music, and then realised that I will need the phone until the end of the plan anyway as I need music and the app/podcast! Oh well.

Anyway, I’m feeling great and looking forward to R3.

Catch you all later.

Happy trails.

I have the Vivoactive before that one and it goes haywire if I go into the city in London but all my gps trackers have. I once got a 2min km 😂😂😂😂. Sounds like you needed the runs to sort out your legs after your flights. Glad it went well.

I’ve found out the Vivoactive 3 has glonass and Galileo options. I’ll try one of them today when I go and see what happens.

If I were you I’d keep that 2min km as a claim to fame! 😂

So I just went out with Galileo turned on and the trace is massively better. I could be on to a winner here. Not sure if yours managed to get that upgrade through firmware?
