Omg today's runway a killer. Seriously thought of giving up on the 5 minute runs as my legs felt so tired. Judging by the distance I covered on my planned route compared to R1 my pace wasn't any quicker so haven't a clue why it was so hard. Pleased I managed to complete it but feel like I could sleep for a week now. Who said exercise makes you feel energised? I used feel the opposite.
W4R2 Killer: Omg today's runway a killer... - Couch to 5K
W4R2 Killer
I found week 4 the hardest so far! I felt the same during the first run but by the third you notice a difference honestly!
Just go very slowly! 🙂
Well completed R3 but found it even harder....didn't cover as much ground so was definitely slower looks like I'll be stuck on this week a lot longer as really don'the have the confidence to move to W5.
Did you sleep well the night before and did you hydrate enough the day before (1.5-2 litres of water)?
Any cross-training or leg strengthening exercises? There are many factors that can cause this. We've all been there.
In any case, slow is good. Keep it slow, ignore speed at all costs. For at least a year or so
Looking at my fitbit, I didn't have a good night's sleep. I was well hydrated and had only been walking on my rest day.
I can't afford the luxury of going to the gym and even if I could, I wouldn't use the cross-trainer as it makes me feel as though my hips are about to dislocate
Is it really going to be a year before my speed increases? I have a feeling I will lose interest before then if I don't see an improvement in a few months at least.
Speed, if that's your target, comes with stamina and that comes with time. For some sooner, the others get it later. And the only way you will increase your stamina and improve on cardio system is by going slow, at times very slow.
For example. Try and give it your best shot, run for your life and l guarantee you that at this stage you won't get far. Then try even harder and you will end up injured, you won't run for months and it will be back to square one. I know because I did that idiocy.
Go slow, believe in your self, take your time and don't push it.
Some days are just like that! Honestly, you'll be fine. The step ups are difficult but doable- the programme is designed that way. Also, great sense of achievement when you've done it
I was really tired when I started running; I slept like a top. Now, a few months on, I'm back to my usual insomniac ways (dammit)
Slow down.. and then slow down more... the runs , every single one make you stronger ... just relax and trust the programme
You can always go slower... just do not stop.. and you do NOT have to run 5K in 30 minutes... you just run for 30 minutes.. that is all it takes... and you will get there
You’ll be ok. Just go at a pace that works well for you. And it does get easier as your body adapts over time. 👍🏼🙂
