W2R2 shorter distance than W1?

Just finished W2R2. It does feel like it's getting easier. Something weird though, during my W1 runs I was covering a distance of about 3.5km. But the first two runs of W2 I have only covered 2.44km and 2.5km. At first I thought it was a glich in my phone but after W2 I guess that's just how it is. I'm surprised because I would have thought I would covering the same or slightly more.

It is odd that you do slightly less in wk2 than in wk1, but it does work, I'm about to start wk8, the programme really does make the transition easy 😊

Trust the programme, regardless of distance etc, it really does work 👍

The program isn't really about distance but time. It's building your body up to be able to run for 30mins so if you run slowly you don't go as far. But when you graduate you can then concentrate on getting faster and so hitting 5k in 30mins.

Don’t look at that distance... don’t look at the pace... log by all means and in six months have a look and be proud of your improvement. The only stat that matters is time run... and that one you beat last weeks stat... very well done and enjoy week 3

Maybe its to do with distance, week 1 is 8/60 second runs, week 2 is 6/90 second runs. Whenever I am doing a rerun for practice like I did today I miss out week 1 as I rather do the 6 runs of week 2 to the 8 runs of week 1. I never accurately measured the distance or pace when I was doing the program last year, good luck to you Mrsellicat for run 3 of week 2.
