W2R2 still hanging in there

Nearly through W2 and am "hanging in there", I don't look forward to the time set aside to run but do enjoy the feeling afterwards! I've made the mistake of glancing forwards to what is ahead in W3 ... :( For this week I get to the end of the 90 sec run almost fit to drop ... not sure how I'll manage doing the W3 runs. Just wish I'd tried this 20 years ago when I was about 2 stone lighter!

Just go slowly and trust the

Programme!

Don't worry about week 3 yet. Enjoy week two and focus on pace and feeling in control.

We all say that sort of thing, but put those thoughts aside as they are a bit of a waste of time aren't they. You're here now, that's what counts. You are doing something positive about your health and weight, and will improve your confidence and well-being by completing this wonderful programme. If you combine your running with a healthy diet then you will get in shape pretty quickly

Just keep on with the programme, slowly progressing through the sessions, and you'll feel much better for it. Just take it steady and that way you get to avoid injury.

I think you should grow to love the sessions! Pick varied routes to keep your practice interesting. I know every short cut, footpath, snicket, alley, by-way etc etc in my own area but have fanned out wider as my runs have taken me further away from home. You can too!

Well done. I read the whole programme before I started ( yes, I'm one of those!) and it made me laugh out loud. Really? I thought to myself....well I am also overweight and hitting the big 5-0 this year and been a smoker most of my life and I am now on week 7 and running 25 minutes at a time. It does seem daunting as you step up to each stage but as everyone else says and I now know it is true, believe in the programme. Some weeks and some runs are really hard but if you stay with Laura and just do as she says you will progress. btw - the first week I thought I had died at the end of each session - lol - keep going - we are all behind you :-)
