W5 R3 on a treadmill

It has been a busy and tough week 5 - all three runs in five days. Did the 20min one yesterday on a treadmill, as I had a free pass to a gym for the day and used the opportunity to go "off road" for the first time.

While doing it, I felt as if I was cheating a little, because I could control my pace perfectly, and had no weather or ground surface influences. I also felt, before the run, that realistically this was the only way I was going to do 20 minutes. So to compensate for the indoor advantage, I decided to double the pace in the last five minutes and set the gradient level higher. I had also done 45 mins of stretching in a gym class beforehand.

Pleased to say I achieved this run, and by doing so I feel as if I have reached a new level, beyond which there is no going back. You can do it man, I must have told myself 100 times in that run.

So now onto wk6, and really looking forward to further progress and ultimately, graduation. And no more treadmills for me.

What an achievement! I don't believe you cheated at all. To have done a class beforehand and then to move onto the mill immediately after is very worthy of pride!

Absolutely well done you and congratulations on completing the week! X

Thank you too. It was W6R1 for me on Friday. I decided to try the local park run route which is 3 laps but I managed 2 in the given time. I can't imagine doing it with a crowd. But I might yet change my mind lol x

I feel like more of a solo runner and I don't see the attraction of running laps, no matter how long they are. Some people might not see the point of running up hill just to run back down again but that's mostly what I've been doing lol. Good luck with your week 6 xx
