I confess. I went off plan. I got to week 6 and I struggled to do run 2 and got nowhere near run 3. I was so close to giving up and accepting I would never be a runner.
As a last ditch effort I decided to do a 5 minute walk, set my speed (I’m a treadmill runner) and just see how far I get. Music pumping and I allowed my mind to watch the TV not the time.
And I did it! I ran for 30 minutes. I’ll go back to week 6 now and graduate accordingly. I guess I just needed some positive affirmation
I doubt if I could do W6R3 on a treadmill.......... I would lose the will to live. Why don't you try outdoors........... it is less of a mental challenge, I believe, and full of stimuli to take your mind off the running.
Thanks! It’s definitely on the cards. I struggle with anxiety of being out on my own with headphones in during the dark evenings do hopefully when spring arrives I’ll be able to try out after work! I wish I could be a 6am riser but I like sleep too much 😂
Well done you ⭐️ Attitude makes a massive difference. I find just thinking “I must do this” makes it much less likely that I will , whereas going out in a relaxed frame of mind to see what I can do makes success more likely. All the best with the next one x
Any chance of doing at least some of your running outdoors? It really makes it all much more interesting and fun. Even if it’s just sometimes, it might be enough variety to keep you going. 😊🌿🌾🥀🏃🏼♀️ Good luck.
