Tough run, body didn’t fancy it all this morning but clocked up my fastest 5k 1k 1m so the rewards came after pushing through the initial stiffness.

It is cold this morning...well done you for doing a run, even when you didn't feel like it; not sure why you are running 5K at this point... I am assuming that includes your warm up and cool down?

Nope, been able to push further than I thought and this still includes walking.

You must walk and run very quickly....running 6K at this point is fast and you may be pushing a tad too hard.

Injury is often hidden and getting to the 30 minute runs safely and injury free is our main aim...maybe stick to the plan at this point... and just check out the advice on the post for Newbies:)

I'm a bit confused, are you not doing any walking?

Still walking but running slowly during the warm up after a warm up before that

Be careful, you might feel fine but you are over doing it.

I'm a bit nervous of offering this type of advice, as recently I have noticed similar advice given by others that appears to have caused offence.

Please take the advice to follow the programme as well meaning, and with your best interests in mind.

Well done.

Training plans are progressively structured to give your body the best chance to adapt to the stresses put on it, while keeping the injury risk minimal.

Doing more than the programmed runs will be increasing that injury risk. You might get away with it, but is it worth it? What is the hurry?

The plan works. It is worth sticking to.

Take care
