W5R2 oh dear: Just attempted W5R2 and gutted... - Couch to 5K
W5R2 oh dear
Just keep going and repeat if you have to,that's what the programme says. You were maybe just having a bad day.Good luck, don't give up.
How’s your hydration? Have you been thirsty at any point today apart from when you first got up? Hydration makes a huge difference to the leg muscles.
Try to keep the legs loose on your rest days... do the post run stretches, maybe add a couple of yoga sessions into your week, they don’t have to take long... think I have a 7 minute routine on one of my apps called “run ready yoga”
Well done getting out there... and that run will make you stronger for the next.
It happens for any number of reasons.... Make sure that you are upping your strength and stamina work now the runs are getting a tad longer... Take it steadily and slow and try to relax...Try not to focus on the next run...just do this one again and enjoy!
Did you watch that U-tube video of the Japanese man doing slow runnng? Just google “slow running” and I’m sure it will show up. Revolutionised my thinking! And did Storm Erik contribute to your day? Just breathe deep and rest and then have another go. 👍
You can always go slower.
Are you running at an easy conversational pace as described in the guide to the plan?
You should be......
Many people jog more slowly than they can walk........ that's just fine.
Thanks everyone for the tips and positivity. Just has a soak in the bath and retuned my mind. Felt really disappointed - but 5 weeks ago, I thought a 1 minute run was impossible. So, will try again on Sunday and drink lots of water and rest / stretch in the meantime 💪🏻🏃♀️ I will not give up! W5 R2 - I'm ready for you next time!
Just keep running - there's no failure except for not trying.
