Second Run; oh dear...

Second run; managed two runs; lots of walking and one more run followed by a cool down walk. It’s going to take me months to get through level one 😔

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 2 of week 1. Remember that you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, there is no time limit here although without repeats the course us 9 weeks.

Well done for giving it a go.

Can you speak aloud clear ungasping sentences as you run?

If not you are going too fast. This is all explained in the guide to the plan. Forget about any speed you think you should be running at and make sure you can speak. This is the secret of success.

You will prevail.

No not at all. I can barely breathe when I’m walking!

So slow right down........it doesn't matter if you can walk faster than you jog.

Hardest bit is going out the front door - now you’ve done that twice the rest will come with time

The great IannodaTruffe is right - you'll hear a lot on here about embracing your inner snail. It's amazing how slowly you can run if you put your mind to it!

And so what if it takes months? Lots of us have had to repeat runs, but every time you try you're getting stronger and fitter . Just keep plodding away and you WILL get there - honest!

Please don’t panic ! I feel your pain. When I started I could barely jog for 20 seconds, and I had to start as a two-pace walker. Then I worked up to 10 seconds jogging in each run, then 20 and so on. It took me nine weeks of repeats to conquer week 1 and another three to get through week 2. I started on 4th September last year and I didn’t graduate till last week. But it has been so worthwhile and I’ve had so much joy out of the programme and the forum: can’t recommend it enough. You’re already well ahead of where I was when I started, so stick with it - you’ll get there x

You’re welcome. I know it can feel depressing when every other post seems to be someone jauntily skipping past 5k in week 6, but there are plenty of people who struggle with it: never feel alone x

You are such an inspiration ButtercupKid I’m exhausted reading your journey, how fantastic. Anyone struggling at the beginning on here needs to read your journey, C25K should use your story as an inspiration 👏
