Week 1 Run 1 aftermath

Has anyone experienced aches and pains after the first run? My body is so sore right now and I’m wondering if it’s normal.

It's normal to have a few aches and pains just so long as it's nothing that doesn't ease after a couple of days. Make sure you warm up and cool down properly and stretch afterwards. But most important of all take it nice and slow. Good luck with run 2

Some aches and pains are normal... try to keep moving. Sharp stabbing pains tend to let you know when something is really wrong. Aches are where your muscles got a rude awakening... they do suffer some damage while running and they repair and strengthen while you rest. The good news is these aches and pains reduce over time and eventually disappear after a normal run. I don’t get them now unless I push pace or distance... so when I have them I consider them a badge of honour for making them hurt!

Welcome... know you are normal.... this is your body wondering what the heck you are doing!

Keep it steady and keep it slow.... and know that each run makes you stronger.... :)

As stated in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you can expect some aches and pains.

Stretching as linked to in the guide will help considerably.

I did the first run of week 1 6 times until I felt I was ready to move on. I had lots of aches and pains. I just complete run 2 of week 1 ;-)
