Why did I find this run harder than the 20min complete run with no break last week?

I completed it but I'm shattered. Good luck and keep pushing to all the runners today. We can do this!

Thanks for the encouragement ! It all helps 👍

I found the same as you ..... with the breaks in running being tougher than continuous running. I guess it’s all part of the magic that prepares us for 5 k in a few weeks !

I just did 1st run of week 7 this afternoon - and a continuous 25 mins was surprisingly do-able . Keep going!!

Take heart. Looking back, I realise week 6 pushed me along quite firmly. Good news is that W7 seems to be a consolidation week & it’s going smoothly so far. W7r3 tomorrow ... 👍

All kinds of possible reasons. Were you as well hydrated and rested ? Was it the same route/weather/time of day ? Was there something extra on your mind ? Needn’t be anything to do with the actual run requirements. If you have a poorer run and can work out why, it helps with future runs. All the best with the rest of the week x

I probably should of drank more and I'm always tired as I've possibly got a problem with my thyroid but waiting on second blood test results.

Thanks

You’re welcome ! Definitely take it slow until you get your test results. Hope things improve soon x

Well done, you did it.

You have partly answered your question........you need to drink between 2-3 litres in the 24 hrs before you run.

Restedness, hydration and nutrition are the top of my list of those variables that can affect your running, but everything else going on in your life can influence your performance.

Not what you're looking for?
