I was supposed to go for my run yesterday but I woke up and I wasn't in the mood. There was a layer of snow or frost on the ground, I had a headache and I just didn't want to, even though I knew I should.
I was disappointed with myself for the whole day. I let my mind games win. As I went to bed, I was determined that I would wake up with a positive mindset.
I still apprehensive but I made it out the door and got on with it.
Wow - that first 3 min run was OK and then to the 5 min run. I can't believe I managed to run for the full 5 minutes. My legs did feel like jelly during that last minute but I carried on. I was huffing and puffing during the walk.
The last 5 minute run was a devil. It felt like I had reduced my speed to a crawl but I listened to Michael. He told me not to stop, he told me to slow down. And I Did It! I am so pleased with myself. I got out of the house, I did my first Week 4 run and I didn't stop running. Yes - Mind over Matter really works. So happy

Amazing - well done! I really battled this morning too and if I wasn't doing park run on Saturday I would have definitely stayed in bed (and then berated myself for the whole day!).
It’s really great!! Yeah the inner critic is quite strong. Yet you gave it a go - yeah!!! Then you did it - double yeah!! I repeated W1 & W2 twice! I’m now on W8 R2 - so it doesn’t matter if you repeat a run or two as you’re building stamina and will be able to keep going and getting stronger each time! So good on you and the journey is yours so enjoy it and be kind. well done!!
