so this is my first run post-graduation...i'm not sure what i was expecting...but i was able to push the pace a little (from snail to hedghog pace) and feel quite happy. i think i'll repeat week 9 a couple of times before i think of being a tad more ambitious. I am so surprised at how long i can run for now compared to 10 weeks ago - so for any one struggling with injury or motivation....repeat a week if you want...slow down if you want...but keep getting out of the door, keep running....because i hope you get to feel like i'm feeling right now....but hopefully you'll feel a lot warmer :o)
Week 10 Run 1: so this is my first run post... - Couch to 5K
Week 10 Run 1
Nice run... that’s what consolidation is all about... happy running, making it comfortable, maybe playing with pace a little, having fun! Your plan sounds perfect... a couple of weeks at 30 minutes is good and the strength grows quickly ready for that next start line.
Congratulations on completing C25K with week 9 run 3, yes you are wise to repeat run 9.
After graduating run 6/30 minute consolidation runs every second or third day.
I notice that you don't have the word GRADUATE 🎓 next to your username. To get your graduation badge and the word GRADUATE 🎓 next to your username leave a message on the January graduate post in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked C25K home page and tell the administrators that you have ran W9R3 of C25K 🎓 🏃
Great to hear you’re keeping going ! Keep us posted x
I just started my own week 10 too. It’s quite scary but also exciting to have the freedom to do what you want. I ran for 30 minutes then realised that I felt good, so kept going for a bit longer. My plan is to keep adding a little bit of time until I reach 5k, then try to keep doing 5k but bring the time down a bit. I managed 4.5k yesterday so not far to go. Happy running 🏃♀️
Hedgehog pace. Excellent that’s exactly what I aspire to. I have even begun to recognise the snails on my ‘run’. Well done keep going. I have finished w8 this am. Good luck.
There is also a podcast Couch to 5K+.
It’s by the NHS as well. It’s for the graduates who want to get abit more like you guys here. Hopefully I’ll get there too.
I’m in the same boat as you trying to increase my pace a little. I’d be happy to do the 5k in 35 mins so just pushing it a little each week 😀. I refer to my lack of pace as “brisk walk with running action” 😂 but I am really proud of myself 🏃♀️
