I think you had more going on than the music... everything else conspired against you. Letâs look backwards... in everything else in life itâs a bad idea, but here in week 7 itâs a great thing to do. Look at how far youâve come... youâre struggling with a 25 minute run... what would the you back in week one make of that? Celebrate the achievement of getting to this stage and relax about the next run. Go off nice and slowly and just enjoy the fact you can run now.
Eating you can change... sleeping may well follow by itself, if not try some meditation or other relaxation before bed.
Hydration at this time of year is more counter intuitive than normal. The key is to drink before you are thirsty... sip that water all day every day. Itâs a strange thing to do, normally we go on the thirsty trigger, but thirst is dehydration, so you gotta get in first. Donât drink cold water, fill a bottle and let it warm up. You donât need to be drinking it out in the cold unless you spend all day outside. Drink it at home, work, in the car, wherever... then you shouldnât need water on the run, so youâre not taking it on in the cold. Donât gulp water, youâll lose most of it straight through and down the toilet... sip.
Sorry it didnât go so well today, but look at what youâve learned about how to run better next time ! Remember the First Rule of C25k: The only run you fail is the run you donât go for ! You didnât fail, you learned, so well done you âď¸
Agree with UFNM wise words, especially about sipping warm water during the day BEFORE you feel thirsty. If you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated. Maybe have a look at drinking herbal/fruit teas during the day? On the plus side, the general trend seems to be that a good run follows a bad, so hopefully you've got a nice doable run coming up.
