Hey everyone..... So I'm on W5, R1 today and I can't wait ☺ only problem is that my foot is killing me and I'm waiting for my proper running trainers to be delivered.
I'm still doing the run but does anyone else suffer with pain in the arch of their foot from doing this and will the correct trainers stop this?
Thank my beautiful 'C25K ers' .

Just back from w5r1 don't have any problem with feet but since I got home I've had a bad coughing fit. I gave up smoking 10 years ago and I'm assuming I'm clearing any muck residue that was left in my lungs
The right shoes for you will help with this a lot, hopefully you’ll be running pain free soon. I don’t think I’d be running with any pain that I described as killing me though. Have a read of this runnersworld.com/uk/health/...
Hopefully you can find the cause and find the right plan of action... if not go see a physio.
Hi, sorry you have pain. I would say to wait before running. Try massaging your foot. If you have a tennis ball the roll your foot gently on it. No harm in doing the other foot as well. New shoes will help I’m sure. The run will still be there tomorrow!
I know the feeling, but remember: if you get to hating it, it'll be harder to come back. The best advice I got from a friend before starting this was to stop when it was still enjoyable. I think it's worth it to wait — and maybe do the flexibility and strength exercises in the meantime? You can get those here if you're keen: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/s...
Try googling for stretches - my favourite is to rest the ankle of the affected foot on the other knee, pull the toes back and stoke the instep very firmly from the heel towards the toes.
