...around my middle son and his girlfriend today - after a brief overnight stay - as I accompanied them to the bus stop to start their journey home.
Son said I honestly looked like a ‘little old person’ on my first run. But that fine as I know he was only joking 😁 and besides it was true as I was intentionally only moving as fast as they were walking. As soon as I’d left them I picked up the pace for my next run section to make myself a little bit breathless, which wasn’t hard as the wind was very brisk and the air was chilly. Along past the shops I went, running in the road when necessary, as road works seem to have sprung up everywhere. The next walk came just after I’d turned uphill towards home, and lasted long enough to take me downhill again past a different set of shops, and to the bottom of another hill (ah the joys of living on The Downs!). Took myself up the hill at a slow steady trot, and sped up a bit when it levelled off. Another brief section on the road took me to my cool down walk. And the cool down walk itself actually brought me almost to my own front door 👍
It’s honestly the first time I’ve actually needed a drink after a run, this time round.
