Week 3 run 2

That went amazing well! Let me just take you on my little experience today. I did not want to get out of bed this morning but I finally did.

So I did my morning routine, put my trainers on, head phones in and 5k app on. I got half way through the warm up and this is where I choose to go left towards the park or right towards the quay. I chose right this time. The sun was coming up, the sky was bright red with a slight drizzle and a Double rainbow. perfect morning!!!!!

My runs went really well. I managed to pace myself and just took slow steady breaths. I got to the cool down. I was about 10mins away from home so I thought oh I might just run for 3minutes and walk the rest. Ran the 3minutes and got to one of the crossing to go towards home but there is another crossing about 2minutes away so I thought I'm not that tired so I carried on. I ran the full 5minutes of the cool down and took a different route home. I probably could of ran for another 5minute or that's how it felt but I stopped. Didn't want to push myself too much.

So I had a fantastic run and I am really looking forward to my run on Friday!!!!!

You were enjoying it and felt u could do a bit more, that's great! I am on week 7 (25 minute runs x 3) but did 30, feel I can do that now. Hoping to work on increasing distance covered to week 9 now, caught the running bug, no known cure available!! 😗 Julie

Well done you. I can't believe that I am almost already nearly at week 4 and I imagine you can't believe you are almost to the end and running for 30minutes already.

Hope u will find the same - I was supposed to run 25 today and thought I would do 30 again, then why not go for 5K? Managed to run 5.2 K in 45 minutes. Feel achy now so going to rest like a princess but did it, so might just do 5K again on Friday. It was hard, but just kept going for 5 more minutes, mother again.

Congratulations on running 5.2k that is fantastic! You have come so far already and you can now run the full 5k in 7weeks. Awesome.

Do you use an app to check the km you run?

Thanks! Way off a 30 minute 5K but I am more interested in getting out and about and running in different places. I used Runkeeper twice so far, it is good as there is a 5 minute update and I have changed it on settings for a km update now too. Really achy so resting today and will see how it goes on Friday, might stay off the grass and tracks and run on a path near me as it is less wear and tear in a way, if I want to do another 5k I will, otherwise stick to the programme suggestion of 25 mins! I didn't use Laura today. Although I like listening to her, she started to drive me insane because she kept crashing and when I did get her back she repeated herself 3/4times over and it annoyed the hell out of me. I am loving the program so far though. Especially after today's run. I really did enjoy myself 😀
