Drove to one of my usual routes in a thick mist, parked the car, did my 5 minute warm up by walking across a field in slightly less thick mist, then started my 25 minute run just after going through the gate into the woods. I couldnโt have timed it better. So, of course, the dog had to take a comfort break (his third ๐) 30 seconds later ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Paused the app and started again.
Honestly? It felt like I was running up hill the whole way. Which actually, I think I was for the most part, but just gentle incline after gentle incline.
Went straight ahead at a crossroads of paths where Iโd normally turn left to head down to the village and continued on through the woodland.
My aim was to keep running until the 20 minute marker then choose a random โthingโ to turn around at and head back the same way. Which worked very nicely even after some (4?) unplanned hill intervals due to Merlin dropping his toy and leaving it behind in the bushes.
I thought Iโd turned a tracking app on, but it appears I didnโt, so have a picture of the random tree I chose as my turning point, instead.
