I Graduated from C25K 19 months or so ago. At times since I have struggled with a back injury and have tried to keep running when I was feeling better and off the injury couch. The one thing which kept me motivated when trying to get into running again was this forum. It’s an amazing community, so thank you everyone.
This morning I dragged my 9 year old Son out of bed at 8:50 and he got dressed and we went to our Local Parkrun. It was freezing, damp and starting to rain. But the Parkrun spirit was high as always and we both ran our best Parkrun yet. Oisin finished 14 places ahead of me and we both got a new PB time. Today was my 27th Parkrun and it’s all thanks to this Forum and C25K.

You told me in June 2017 not to chase after PB’s too much as it can get too hard at some stage to get the next one. You were dead right.😀 little did I know then that my new PB time was 18 months away. Felt amazing though.
Hi Decker. Great to hear from you. Next week is a paced Parkrun so I will be following the Bib with 30 on the back. Will try to go sub 30 next weekend.
Yeah it’s great sharing a run with Oisin. He loves it. We do the run together until the last 800 meters when he drops the hammer and goes for it. After a Parkrun we both go to a Cafe for breakfast. Just the 2 of us. He Carb loads on Pancakes 🥞 afterwards.
Nice to hear from you damienair and good to hear you're still enjoying running. I can't explain how much this forum means to me, I feel so fortunate to have such lovely friends in my life...and we have an understanding that couch dwellers are missing out on...their loss. Well done on your PB's both of you...I got my youngest running last year and although he doesn't run regularly, it's lovely to share some time with him
Great to hear from you too. Yes this forum is amazing. It always motivates me to keep going. I’m never ever going to be fast, but I can still improve. I feel my legs are getting a little stronger and my pace is naturally picking up too. I’m going to start picking up a little bit of distance now too. 10K here I come again.
It’s lovely sharing Parkrun with my 9 year old. It our little thing on a Saturday morning and we love the post Parkrun breakfast out. Any time out in the fresh air exercising and away from the PlayStation is time well spent.
