Incredibly frustrating now - patience has never been my strong point and a big part of my mind is telling me just to go out and see how it goes but still feeling pain and the fear of doing more damage is making me wary - trying everything to get back out there! Heat massage torture device tonight
Injury Couch Still 😤: Incredibly frustrating... - Couch to 5K
Injury Couch Still 😤
E.T. phoneeee homeeee...
Have fun! 🤣
That’s what I said 🤣🤣
My other thought was: OMG, she is throttling E.T. with her perfectly manicured hands!
Stay positive, Zaza...and don't you dare go for a run, imagine how upset you would be if you caused more damage and had to spend even more time on the IC 😒
Unfortunately, I think patience is the only way forward, so hang on in there and you will be back running before you know it.
Also, that poor Alien doesn't look very happy being grabbed by the throat 😉
It sucks I know... but all you can do it to get what exercises you can in around the injury to better prepare you for the comeback run. There’s less to be gained by going out there too soon than there is fully healing first. Have a think where you were at the start of this, and be proud of that, the comeback from this injury isn’t going to be nearly as tough as the journey you’ve been on.
That’s exactly what I keep telling myself and I know that is the only answer - I just hope it’s not much longer
Hopefully you’ll be back before I do something stupid and put myself back on the IC 😂
No more shingle surfing for you!
I am trying to focus on being a grown up and acting my age... then I watch SAS: who dares wins that I had recorded and I’m thinking that forward descent down the cliff looks a lot of fun! Basically a running abseil facing down. Maybe I should throw my TV out... I really want to try that though!
I’ve done that - easy once you’ve gone over the first bit. Speed is your friend here! The Benefit of living in the lakes. Crags everywhere!
If there is pain... do not run...
I’ve got an arthritic toe, I know at some point I’ll have to put things on hold for a while and then pick it up again. The path for us all is different, you can slip any date as long as you replan to pick up where you left off, it’s disappoinnting I know but ultimately this is your journey and each of us will be different. Keep smiling, things will be soon mended 😄👍
And all is good with our football team so things could be worse! Thanks 😊
Hi, I hurt my foot not long after graduating, and it was weeks before I could run again. I hated it! I'm back running now, but like Jürgen, I now have to deal with arthritis in my foot, so there are lots of non running days. The injury seems to have triggered it. (I also hate running in the cold and actively avoid it. Wimp 😁)
Thing is, I can still manage a park run even though I'm barely only running once a week, so don't panic that you'll lose all your fitness. Be patient, do core strengthening, come on here and vent. You're in good company. Especially if you pass those eclairs round. 🍩🐷 I'll bring tea.☕
Hope you’re feeling much better soon! 😃
I know your frustration as I havent run for weeks now owing to various illnesses. But we must listen to our bodies, they will tell us when they are ready to get out there again. Good luck.
I know the feeling. I sprained my toe (not broken) two weeks ago and it is still so sore I can't put on my running shoes! So I am being patient, but jeez--it's just a toe!!! I am now worried that the weather will turn bad and it will put me off even longer!
I feel your frustration- I’m going backwards and can’t run more than 4K before the pain in my calf forces me to stop and I’m supposed to be doing a half marathon on 3rd March! Spikey rollers for me, and now I’m coming down with a cold. Might go into hibernation for a few days and see if that helps...
Oh no - not good. Actually the ET heat thing in the picture has really helped my leg - I was very skeptial at first - but today I haven’t felt even a tweak in my leg 🤞🏻 so depending on how you get on with your spiky roller you
May want to give one of these a try! Good luck with the training
