Week 3 run 2✅✅ anticipating the next few weeks

Hello!

My first post here, I'm a first time runner, used to play sport and swim years ago but have lost my fitness and eager to get it back.

I've really enjoyed the runs so far, and enjoying the progress, but noticing it getting harder of course. I've seen some comments about repeating weeks, but I'm wondering if it's better / more common to persevere and if I manage a run to just move on to the next week, or should I be repeating until it's done with ease?

I've learnt from wise words on here to slow my pace down so am managing fine, but unsure whether I'll be able to cope with week 4! Remaining optimistic, any advice would be great? 😀

Congratulations on getting to week 3 run 2 of C25K, as far as week 4 is concerned , just take the runs slowly, no hurry necessary.

Welcome and well done... carry on and do what you are doing..:)

If you complete the run without totally exhausting yourself... move on...Keep each run, regardless of length, slow and steady.... pop in some stamina and core strength exercise on some rest days... any kind of non impact exercise will be useful...

Please do check this post out if you have not already done so too :)

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

The general guidance is that if you complete a workout then you move onto the next one. No need to repeat unless you don't manage to complete.

Enjoy your journey.

Only repeat a run if you didn't make it. If you completed it, give yourself a high-five and do the next one.

Week 4 will be fine. If in doubt go a little slower but it'll be fine. Yes you run for a bit longer than in the first three weeks, but that's because you have the benefit of three weeks training so you are capable of a bit more now. The programme is really, really well designed. Even the bits that look odd are there for reason and thousands upon thousands of newbie runners have succeeded with it. Stick to the plan, don't go too fast, never skip a rest day because they are actually there for a reason too. You can do this.
