Music inspiration needed!

Just about to commence W3R1 & am looking to make up my own playlist, but totally without inspiration 😳 I’ve downloaded a couple from Spotify and on the whole they’re pretty good, but there’s a couple of tracks there that really aren’t my cup of tea and it kind of ruins my momentum. What does everybody run to, that really gets them into the moment? I can do all genres, as long as there’s a good beat....

I found a few good ones from Clubbing EDM. Not tunes I would usually enjoy if I was just sitting around but for running I found the beats excellent!

Cannonball (Earthquake) (ft Matthew Koma) is pretty awesome as there's a line that says "show us what you got when the beat drops" and the beat picks up and never fails to make me push that bit harder too!

I use Apple Music ..... I just went through my whole library adding things I know I like to a new playlist ( it’s about 4 hrs worth!) so - I just hit shuffle when I ( appropriately) start shuffling along - every run therefore has different tunes - from my 70s funk favourites thro Disco , rock, country and right through to current pop crap!

If I knew how I’d upload the playlist here so you could try it ...... but I don’t!

Hope you crack it

I might be doing this to run 5K on my 60th next month, (middle aged then) but I just love EDM of all kinds 😂. I have a huge collection (CDs mostly) and make playlists for each session BUT as yet nothing fits my shuffle, apart from Jingle Bells on Xmas Day 😎. They all keep my spirits up and me going.

I just set the tracks up and know that when one track mixes into the next I have managed another 3 mins or so. Pete Tong I am not but I try.

Thought I might give Classical a try soon - Charge of the Light Brigade, William Tell Overture, Ride of the Valkyries anyone?

Next time you our out and flagging a bit imagine what other people you see are listening to 😉

I’m loving the Wagner suggestion - team it with some Elgar and maybe a bit of Mozart for pace- I’m off to get downloading!!!!🎼🎼🎼

I just ran out to Hidden 's 90 retros playlist (on spotify) and it is fab. Jan has made various playlists with suggestions from us all- have a look :)

Definitely jancanrun's playlists on Spotify. Also anything by Queen, and Madness always lift my spirits.

But the one standout track I love is Footloose! Not my usual type of music, but brilliant to jog to. 😁

Any Jancanrun playlists are excellent to run to, you can get them on Spotify.

I’m a bbc 6 music addict so I have a Spotify list of tracks I’ve downloaded from my daily listening to 6 music! Includes pretty much a bit of everything 🎶🎶🎶🙂

Thank you! Am planning on getting out this evening - W3R1 - and am a bit apprehensive, will give these a shot. I do have a habit of joining in choruses though when doing the walking bit between jogs 😂😂😂
