I'm 57 and really need to get back to fitness. A month(!) after downloading the app I finally ran out of excuses and got out and did my first run. And it wasn't so bad after all. Maybe I can do this :-)

I'm female, almost 50 and other than dog walking have done nothing vaguely aerobic since before my eldest child (now 15) and into week 5 now, you can do this. and the essential reading posted by Iannoda is really helpful. I'm enjoying it in a wierd kind of way! The app is fab.

G’day Geordie from Sydney. My age just about reverses your numbers, In a couple of months I will be 75. I have just today completed the program and ran for 30 minutes covering about 4 km or abou 2.5 miles. I know that you have already done the hardest bit. You got started and should feel proud.

If a complete fogie like I am can do this I reckon that you can. The program really works, run slowly enough to complete each challenge and you will surprise yourself. Keep us posted.

Well done πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ. Yes you can do it. Lots of nice flat places to run in Geordie land (used to live there). I'm South Wales now and flat is not easy to find 😒even the places the Locals call flat have a big hill in it somewhere πŸ˜‚

There's no maybe about it (except in your mind). You can definitely do it. I am the least likely person on the planet to have taken up running and yet I love it! Good luck and jeep us updated on your progress. :)

Well done! You can definitely do this. I'm 55 and had spinal surgery a year ago. I hadn't done any exercise for 5 years. Before that I used to be a regular gym goer but after hurting my back have been scared to do anything!! I've just finished week 1 and haven't found it as bad as I feared! Go girl πŸƒ

You can definitely do this. I trained for a 10k when I was 57, 3 years ago, I had never run before and it was so good to achieve it. Lapsed a bit now and using couch to 5k to get going again.

Good for you. There's no rush; read the advice on pre and post stretches and 5 min walks and you will succeed. Its not a race but there will be some ups and downs, and doubts.

I started mid Sep and completed program Dec; now into 2nd month of consolidation.

Soon will be 76 and was hoping to do a park run. Tripped and fell, nothing to do with the ice.

Once I've healed will be back to my Mon Wed & Fri morning runs. Newcastle/Wallsend is very dry, only wore a waterproof twice in all that time.

I'm 59 and 2 stone overweight. I will be doing week 9 run 3 next week! I never thought I could do it. Just go slow and take the rest breaks. It's an amazing programme and the best thing you'll do all year. Good luck to you.

Yes, you sue can, just follow the programme as stated, a day’s rest in between, and make sure you make time for it, whatever the time of day / night, with no excuses. Take it steady you’ll feel so much better afterwards, it’s worth the effort. I was 10 years older than you when I started, and am still going ! Good luck.

Course you can!! Sound like you've done it before. I'm you're age and I'm at week 8 now. Some runs are unbelievably tough to face but often work out as not that bad at all. Our brain seems to be biggest obstacle!! Go you x

Hello, I started c25k this time last year as a 60 year old. I graduated in May and then went on to run 10k. This is an amazing programme and you will be surprised at where it leads . Use this forum to tell your story and seek advice, it’s very supportive. Have fun.

Georgiehousewife, well Done I was a bit not motivated after having moved area and new town , it took me a year to restart and I’m

not looking back !I have started Excercise and feel more motivation and have lossed weight ,which is a bonus! I’m also a 65year old and it makes me more interested to be a healthier person and that’s it !

Well done for starting. Follow the programme and before you know it you'll be a runner. I have been utterly surprised at how far this programme has taken me. Before you know it you'll graduate and I tell you it feels amazing!

I started in April last year. I was almost 59. It took me longer than 9 weeks to complete the C25K. I repeated the weeks until I felt ready to move on to the next week. I eventually completed the final week in October. I would never had said I could do anything like this before trying this programme but I have and I am very proud of myself. I still do the week 9 run 2 to 3 times a week. If you put your mind to it you can do it. Good luck.
