50 this year and week One c25k Done but dreading week 2

Hi I started C25K last week I have done week one and I am not feeling it lol my legs hurt bad.

I have been walking 7-10 miles everyday prior to this I also started Zumba classes rhebsame wek as c25k so maybe that’s the leg pain reasons ?

Anyone struggle with week 1 and wonder how you’ll run more ?

Also doing WW strict and gained 3 lbs when I’ve been losing every week for 5 months and I’m still strict I def am not eating more and it’s all weighed measured and tracked hopefully when my legs feel better the retained water will flush out x photo is of me in August 18 and last week 20 weeks of WW and walking x

You're doing brilliantly. Leg pain can be lots of things but mainly just that its something new for your body to adjust to.

Please do read the FAQs and programme guide as there's loads of useful info.

Keep it up, this programme is fantastic and teaches you more than just how to run! 👍💪😁

Hi LM

Your not alone, I have been at WW a year lost 5 stone started running 11 weeks ago and my weight loss has slowed right down but boy am I getting toned and I am still losing but on 1/2 llb or less a week. I am now in the consolidating period of C25k and I have WW to thank indirectly as when they rebranded our coach asked us to think of a non weight related goal to achieve for Xmas and after chatting to her (she is brilliant btw) I chose C25k and never looked back. So what I’m really trying to say is let your weight list take a back seat and concentrate on your fitness they really 2 halves of the same coin.

Sounds like maybe you’re doing too much of the same kind of exercise ? There are lots of possible combinations: I do NHS Strength and Flex on my rest days, and I know others swim or cycle. Might be worth looking into ? Make sure you do get some full rest days too: you’re demanding a lot of changes from your body, and if you don’t give it time to adjust you’re far more likely to suffer an injury. As to the weight, assuming you know you’ve been following your eating plan to the letter, bear in mind that muscle is heavier than fat, so when you start to tone up you can look lighter but weigh heavier. Muscle also burns calories quicker than fat, so if you keep on eating healthily you’ll reach a tipping point and start to lose again. Enjoy your journey x

Hello. Don’t dread this programme at all. Each week steps up in small manageable intervals. The sense of achievement is amazing and opens up the door to loads of new firsts. First 5K, first Parkrun and many many more. C25K is one of the best things I have ever done, so don’t worry about it at all. If you find a week tough just repeat it again until your confident to move on.

Congratulations on your success with WW. Your on a path to a brand new life. Excellent.

Damien

You’ve done great! What a difference... welcome to C25K, I’m sure you’ll be fine on this plan too.

3lbs isn’t a lot... it could be added hydration, it could be muscle build... do you also take measurements? Running and your other exercise can burn fat, add muscle and have you smaller but a little heavier, it happens a lot.

Also, make sure you’re eating enough... you may need a little tweak because of added exercise, if we under eat we gain weight.

Anyways, I’m sure your weight loss journey will resume and you’ll do this running journey just as amazingly as you’ve done that. Enjoy the journey.

Thankyou I am panicking a bit love exercise but love losing weight lol exercise slows it down and everyone at WW is obsessed with scale weight

So I think that’s my problem

Yes I am eating more protein and veg. Thanks again :)
