Taken a week off- sort of.

I should have done the last run of week 5 on Friday, the day we set off on a 5 day walking holiday. The day before was a running rest day but not a real rest day as I had done a hilly 6.5 mile walk, 3 mile bike ride and two hours martial arts and my legs were sooo tired. I just couldn’t do it- and my C25k trainer cut out so almost running blind! I only managed 8 minutes of running.

I’m now on holiday and walked 4miles fri, 5 miles yesterday and today 10 hilly miles. I don’t think my legs will cope with a run tomorrow so planning on trying when back home on Wednesday- so nearly a week off.

So do I go back a run and do the run, walk, run or go for 20 mins? I’ve been dreading this continuous 20min run anyway as I’m quite anaemic ( known by docs and probably lifelong now) and rest walks help me ready for the next run. This setback (totally self inflicted) hasn’t helped.

Ps I’ve been ok’d to run by docs.

You should be fine... you don’t lose any fitness for two weeks, so enjoy a couple of rest days... Wednesday is fine. Go off gently and keep that pace down... have a good run.
