Hi Iv been quiet for a few weeks while enjoying my freedom of running.

It’s been doing well I’m running about 32 mins each run now and my pace varies but I’m happy. Still only running about 3.8k which is fine.

I have a fitness test coming up (date to be confirmed) which is a bleep test. Stupidly now I’m a runner thought this would be a breeze. Boy how wrong was I 😩

I feel like I’m back at week one and want to die. My breathing is awful I have asthma so prob worse than if I didn’t. I’m doing this every run now with a run up a steep hill as much as I can manage too. Today I felt like I was going to vomit it’s awful. But I know there is no short cut to get better. I think I will be able to complete the level I need but I sound like I’m having an asthma attack. I’m hoping if I just keep at it like withC25k it will improve and get easier.

Can’t wait to get back to my long runs again as I’m not enjoying this at all.

Hills do build speed... so you’re doing the right thing in my opinion, maybe use a short 10 minute gentle run to really get the legs ready... through the toxic 10 and all that. Many runners do hill sprints at the end of a gentle run.

Thank you I think I need to keep doing hills. I have plenty around where I live so that’s not a problem.

On the day I won’t have time to get the toxic ten out my system which is worrying but il just have to push myself and do it. But in training I will do some running before.

Never done the test... but you should have a lot more on the flats. Toxic 10 is more a distance thing, you should get breathers early in the test, and then a few sprints... the early ones will warm the legs nicely.
