I rarely post but have lurked for the last 2 months and been inspired and encouraged by others. So today I did it. Following a bout of pneumonia over Xmas and well into January I decided I needed to do something to exercise my lungs. I started on Feb 16th and ran almost every other day and completed my final 30 minutes today. I am in no way finding it easy but that’s because I’m running longer each time. My main goal is to still be doing this in years to come. If I run further that’s great; if I run faster that’s good but I just want it to be a lifetime habit. Thank you to everybody who contributed to this forum. It’s a great help to hear from others. Next stop, getting to 5K- I ran just over 4.5km today so it’s achievable. Then a park run. Then just enjoying it ☺️

Well done and Happy running 😊x
Yay! Congratulations Clare! It takes determination and effort to complete C25K, and you have proven you have got what it takes. 👏🏅🏃♀️
You are so close to running 5k too; it will just be a matter of a week or two- just keep consolidating by running 3 x 30 min runs a week. I just added an extra minute each run, until I finally got to 5k. Enjoy your post grad running!

Congratulations and what a wonderful success story coming back from pneumonia
I was running every other day for quite a while. It is a good thing to sometimes have more than one rest day from running. You come back stronger.
On the couple of times I did have an extra day I didn’t feel better but to be honest there are so many variables and I’m still such a novice I will have to play about with it a bit more to see. For me it was more of a psychological thing. Almost like I didn’t want to break the chain!
Great achievement Clare well done 👏🥇🏆 Onwards and upwards now, enjoy your journey 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️😊
