I’m struggling - not sure if I’m just tired but gave myself the weekend off after a run Friday (treadmill). Came home from work, changed ready for a run, walked the dogs briskly and used that as my warm up. Got music on, started up the treadmill and I just didn’t have it in me :( hot and out of breath far sooner than normal. Running slower too then at the 9 min stage decided I couldn’t go on. Feel like I’ve let myself down. Showered and ready for bed haha at 5pm! I do feel tired today!?

I'm only on week 5 and struggling to do the 20 minute run so I'm no expert but don't lose heart - we all have bad days, don't be too hard on yourself - give yourself a break, keep hydrated and try again in a couple of days.

Well done - the 20 was a toughie and here am I only a few weeks ahead of you, so it’s definitely doable. Im going to do it again Wednesday 👍🏻

Maybe a change of scenery might help, nothing beats an outdoor run on a crisp, cold morning / evening, it will bring a whole new dimension to your running and it might even be an end to your post grad blues.

Try again, on C25K there are no rules against repeating any runs or week's, you have not let yourself down. Ready for bed at 5pm, take a nap and try again either this evening or tomorrow.

I’ll try Wednesday - I’m working at home and so easier to go whenever

You are too hard on yourself.. work.. dogs and feeling tired... sometimes it happens..but you want and you tried. Rest up.. an early night and head off again when you are ready!

well done!

PS

Maybe an outdoors route... could you take the dogs:)

One out of 3 yes I could but they all needed a walk... I’ll try again Wednesday (working from home so can do it earlier 👍🏻)

I agree with Andy14st9lbs - try outside - you see things and experience things outside of yourself that can lift you. I was doing my first W9 run and going through a tough spot, and overtook an older runner even slower than I am, but gave her a big thumbs up as I passed. Looping back another way, we ran (slowly) towards each other and blew big kisses at each other! We do this when ever we meet running in the park. And there are others out there - like a physical running version of here - encouraging and supportive as we plod past each other.

Also feeling not great today is not a predictor of how you’ll feel in a couple of days. KBO!
