And so I Begin!

So, after turning 60 in July last year and being diagnosed with Type 2 in September, I knew I had to change my Life Style!

I immediately joined Slimming World and got my2 Stone loss award the week before Christmas! OK I gained a few pounds over Christmas but I will get that back and more over the coming weeks!

So now for Stage 2 of my Lifestyle Change and tomorrow morning after my night-shift I am intending to embark on my 1st run of the C25K programme.

Many moons ago I was in my School Cross Country Team for the year above me, so it’s in there somewhere, so now to try and find it again!

Not sure if my knees will take it, so it’s going to be a journey, but if you don’t try you can’t succeed!

So wish me luck, and I’ll let you know how I get on!

Chris

Well done. Hope your first outing goes well for you. The C25K programme works if you stick to it. Its gradual approach is designed to minimise injury and maximise your growth in stamina. I'm 62 and it worked for me last year. I've decided to try to lift it to 10k this year.

It sounds like you've got the motivation for it. You'll feel great as you increase the running time. Don't worry about your speed - just get there each time...
