Hello fellow runners,
I thought I’d put this post up in the hope it will help and encourage any of you who are just starting out on your C25K journey.
I graduated in Dec 2017..... just over a year ago, at the ripe age of 69 😱
I found it hard at first, the thought of running 3mins non stop scared me but I got through it, as we all do, with a glowing sense of achievement after Graduating at the London Santa Run 2017
I’d have struggled without the support and encouragement on this forum as I was running alone......it’s brilliant on here and you’ll get all the help and advice you need 😊
I went on to complete ju-ju- ‘s B210K plan in February....I found this easier than C25K so don’t be daunted by the thought of running 10k!
After running a couple of 10k’s, I started training for the Great North Run last September which is a Half Marathon. I completed it in 2:44...... so many people but what an atmosphere!
A month later, I completed the Oxford Half in 2:28.....I’m never going to be the quickest runner out there, for me it’s the enjoyment and the freedom I get out of it, plus I’ve lost a stone in weight since I started 🤗
I’m now training for the Brighton Half in February.
I turned 70 last month and still can’t believe how far I’ve come since completing the C25K programme....I’d never been particularly active prior to that so all I can say is, if I can do it so can you!
Put your mind to it and you can achieve anything 😊
