I went for the physio assessment yesterday afternoon. Thankfully there is no tear or serious damage. He could see the bump straight away, but thinks it’s just thickening of the tendon, and fluid build up. He did some physio to try to ‘mobilise’ it (I nearly went through the roof it was so painful), and also some ultra sound which is supposed to aggravate the cells to speed up healing. I have exercises to do, including continuing with eccentric heel drops, and another appointment on 6th Jan. I asked if it was possible to run and he said he couldn’t see it being detrimental, but to leave it for a couple of weeks.
I’m now more optimistic that I will be able to restart sometime in January, but will wait till after the next appointment if he says it’s ok 🤞🏼
So I just want to say thank you very much for the support you have given me, both during my runs, and the time spent on the IC. Hopefully I’ll be able to complete this by Easter, rather than Christmas.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year 🎄🎁🎉🍾🥂

I’m glad you have some sort of diagnosis now Wenderwoo and another check in the New Year! Hopefully you’ll be fully restored to running fitness before too long! Good luck and festive greetings to you!
Good to get a diagnosis & know you’ll soon be running again. Suggest you try Lavender Oil on your feet before bedtime as it aids recovery & promotes restful sleep 😴 Have a great Xmas & look 👀 forward to your running return in the new year 👍😊
Well done Wenderwoo. Just use this opportunity to relax and enjoy Christmas and the New Year. Hopefully then you will be fighting fit and back out there completing your journey in January.
That sounds promising! Persevere and you’ll get there 👏🏻 And it’s all the more of an achievement 👍🏻 Have a lovely Christmas break and then enjoy your return to running 🥂
What a relief, that's really good news! I'm looking forward to seeing you running and posting again in January. 😊 Merry Christmas to you, and many happy runs in the New Year! 🎄
Sounds very promising so look forward to seeing your return to fitness in the new year. I came upon the heel drop exercises and they seen to be helping me too.
Better weather towards Easter hopefully! Good luck with physio assessment soon.
