Well thatβs week 1, run 2 out of the way & I survived!! πππ legs ache big time now though; Iβm dreading the 3 flights of stairs to climb at work tomorrow π³. Soooo pleased with myself though as Iβm not a natural runner (people that know me, know I canβt run a bath!!) ... it wasnβt elegant, the dog πΆ was puzzled and my darling daughter moaned the whole time but I DID IT!! πππΎ bring on Tuesday - 3rd Run of the week ( that is, if I havenβt completely seized up by then!!) πππ
Newbie alert!! : Well thatβs week 1, run 2 out... - Couch to 5K
Newbie alert!!
How did your find it to the first run? I did my first run this evening, nearly died and now I feel stiff but I actually feel ok and quite positive π
It was ok - I could still speak when I got home!! ππ i was surprised at how much I enjoyed it π like you Iβm aching now though π maybe need to stretch a bit before and after....
Well done on getting started. My advice would be to take it slowly but speed wise and rest days are essential, think the consensus of opinion on here is at our early stage the 5 minute warm up walk you do before every run is all the pre stretching your body needs, but post run stretches are essential. Think the NHS website has some or hopefully you can find the link on here if you do a search.
Agree with you about puzzled dogs, my two canβt understand why I start out so promisingly running with them, then I turn around after 15 mins or so and run back to the car.ππ€
Amazing! Well done. Keep us all updated on your progress. W1 D1 for me tomorrow.
Enjoy the run πββοΈπ Let me know how you get on...? I had Laura talking me through - didnβt bother with earphones so just via loudspeaker. Had some funny looks from other dog walkers, but I donβt care because in the words of Forrest Gump... βI was running!β ππππββοΈπππ»
My dog casually trots along side me, with an occasional glance over her shoulder as if to say βwell come on then, are we running or not?β
