Uh Oh! Newbie question alert!

Just a quick question from a complete newbie to running. I've noticed that on the C25K app Week 3 total workout time for each run is only around 20 mins, down from approx 30 mins in week 2, although admittedly the running sections are longer. Am I reading it correctly? Is the extra running time so hard that the overall time exercising has to be shorter?

Yes you are reading it correctly what it is starting to do is get you running in longer blocks with walking intervals which will eventually disappear completely in week 7 but don't worry about the time just follow the instructions and you will not have any problems.

Thanks very much. I'll crack on and hope for the best.

You'll find that the time spent running is the same, just in longer sections so the walking breaks are adjusted accordingly. As you progress and your stamina builds you will need less recovery time.

Thanks very much. It makes sense. I'm actually really looking forward to doing the longer runs....Just hope my lungs keep up with my enthusiasm.

Just follow the programme... you get stronger with every single run... the runs do not get harder...you just move on. You do it slowly and steadily and trust the programme and have faith in yourself...:)

Just finished week 2 and I can't believe how much fitter I feel already. I'm really looking forward to each run. Thanks for the advice.

Trust the plan and don't try to second guess it's reasoning. The logic is flawless.

Countless thousands of graduates have succeeded with this plan and it's structure is remarkable for its ability to turn couch potatoes into runners.

Don't anticipate problems just give it your best effort and if you don't complete a run then you repeat it until completion, then move on.

Enjoy the journey.

I'm loving the journey so far. Just completed week 2 and can't wait to get cracking on week 3. I notice it's a big jump between Week 3 and 4 and although filled with trepidation it's matched by excitement at what I'll be able to achieve in just 2 more weeks. Cheers.
