National Trust Trail Runs

Has anyone taken part in any of these? Some really lush trails to run with groups or alone. Im really making an effort to get to different interesting places to run. It really enhances the pleasure of it and is such a great distraction from tiredness. Does anyone have a favourite route to recommend ?

Not done any of them... but I’ve walked all over and around Lyme Park... there’s some nice steep hills 😱 but great views behind the park... it’s on my must do list... as now is the one near Sheffield that I didn’t know, thanks for the link!

I think you’re right... using running to see new places and appreciate the great British countryside really does tick all my boxes for a good run.

Happy running.

Local to me at lovely venues, including National Trust, there are these: hoohaah.co.uk - there is a fee to enter, but they are timed and you get bling, plus they raise money for local charities, they are some of the nicest, laid back events I’ve ever been to.......Wimpole do a night run too, in March I think.....

These look fabulous. Avebury is just down the road from me so I may have to check that one out.

Thanks GT!

How utterly beautiful, just stunning. Huge sigh from over here, green with envy. Thank you for the link.

The main trouble I have travelling to run, not being a driver, is not having anywhere to stash my stuff like a warm jacket etc

Hi, We regularly Nordic walk around Clumber lake and it is my intention to run it when I've graduated, Toal length is 4miles. The park run is held there too but not around the lake, that's my first goal. There are "walks" around the Longshaw estate Sheffield, which would be suitable for running I think, but we always favour the "round" walk around Padley Gorge (part of the Estate). This would only be suitable for really experienced Fell runners, but a beautiful walk any time of year with Grindleford Station Cafe for the best Bacon sandwich around and a "pint or 1/2 pint" mug of tea! halfway round😂
