Have always looked at runners and thought “I’d love to have the mindset to do that”. On the advice of a pal I have downloaded the app and will tomorrow set off on wk1 run1. Mildly terrified, but you have to start somewhere I guess. See you on the other side!

Welcome. You can do this... mindset is the key word there, a lot of it is mental, getting your schedule planned, controlling the pace, driving to the end when a tough run comes along... but there’s no need to be terrified, a refusal to quit is all that stands between you and those 30 minute runs. Enjoy the journey to them.

Welcome and good luck. Be warned though you may catch runners glow as the weeks go by and that running bug is hard to shake off. Hopefully you will love it. It’s hard at times but keep going and going...... happy running to you 🏃🏼‍♀️😄😄😄😄🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

Ha! I definitely agree! The running bug was surprising for me (as I thought I hated running). Turns out I hate treadmills - not running! Fell out of the habit after changing jobs. Starting the programme again this week and I’m pleased I’m not finding it as hard as last time.

Welcome! You've done your future self a huge favour in starting in on this plan. Take it slow and steady, soak up the knowledge in these forums and let this sink in as a habit and you may just change your life. I was in your shoes last year and now running is a huge part of my life and health. Go for it!

The plan is brilliant. Follow it and don’t do more than it says, and don’t give up. I saw a t shirt that said ‘running is mental’ double meaning obviously but don’t listen to your own doubts. Have fun, you will!

The beauty of using the audio input is you fire it up, do as you are told and the mindset can catch up later if need be.

You are clearly already bringing something really useful to the process though - a genuine aspiration and "I'd love to" rather than "I should" or "I ought to", an attitude that this experience is something you are giving to yourself rather than inflicting on yourself.
