I work different shift patterns. On occasions it will not be possible to follow the training prog. Is it ok to train as and when as long as I do it 3 times per week ?

Don't worry too much about three times per week but do make sure you have a rest day between runs.
It is all in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I'm in this exact position. There's no way I can run the same days each week and work days are out of it. I'm just on W2R1 but for W1, running on non-work days meant that I did my second and third runs on back to back days, which everyone says is a bad idea — and I can now confirm they are dead right. So I've decided I'll continue to run on work-free days but, like Ian suggests, I'll be sure to keep at least one rest day between runs and if that means a running "week" takes longer than seven days, then so be it.
I often did not manage 3x weekly because of work and other commitments but it was fine and often, as the runs got longer, I felt I benefitted from sometimes having two 'rest' days between. This plan is epic, you'll be fine
That’s good. Yes it will be fine. It’s only when do 12hour long days together that I can’t. Legs by end of shift would not allow. But I don’t do 2 together often. Thanks enjoy 2019 C25k.
I also do a weird shift pattern and to be honest stated off only doing two runs a week. I'm trying to make up for it by doing a run every other day.
I've been bitten by the running bug and almost at the end of the program!
Just keep up the good work Jaylana!
