I'm so glad to be back ! Three weeks to the day after I sprained my ankle, I'm running again ! I went for the "little" 20 minutes lap and everything was fine.
It was a rainy and windy day, and I had to walk about 40 seconds in the middle because that stretch of the path was so muddy I was afraid to slip. I went to the hill where I sprained my ankle last time, but did it uphill instead of downhill and it was plenty slippery enough even that way.
The ankle did feel a bit strained towards the end, after the long downhill second half, so I RICEd it when I got home.
In the end I was really happy to be moving again, and proud to have got up and done that "first run after" under such an awful weather. But getting up and through the door really was the toughest bit. Once outside, I barely noticed the rain at all and had fun in the puddles !

Nice that you had fun in the puddles today, so happy to hear that your ankle injury is better, yes as you say getting out of the house is the hardest part, onwards and upwards with your running π.
That first run back after injury is always scary π A sprained ankle can take ages to heal as there is little blood flow in the area so keep an eye on it for the future.
Do some strengthening exercises (stand on one leg then a pile of cushions or wobble board in the gym, draw the alphabet with your foot) and stretch the calves every day. A sprained ankle can cause tight calves.
I know this because I've had a few in my time! But it doesn't stop us from running though π€
Thanks Irishprincess ! Yeah, I'm being careful and strengthening my ankle, especially as the husband got himself a bad sprain in June during his warm-up routine (he's a table tennis player) and tried to do too much and too soon afterwards. As a result he's still not completely healed, and that's definitely not something I want !
I'm going progressively. This week I ran three times 20 minutes, and I'll increase to 30 over the next two weeks. The exercises are working, I can already tell my ankle is more mobile and more resistant !
