Week 7 Run 1 brilliant; Week Run 2 AWFUL!

Really enjoyed Week 7 Run 1, then today I did Week 7 Run 2 I felt dire by the end! I did the first 12.5 minutes much too quickly for my body, and consequently suffered in the second half

😳. By the time Michael said ‘5 minutes to go’ I was ready to give up ....but I thought of all these posts of inspirational encouragement on here & kept going! I even managed to speed up a bit in the last minute when MJ said ‘go for it’.

For the first time in this programme though I really didn’t enjoy the run & was beetroot red by the end of it 🍅 (ok, that’s a tomato!). Lesson learnt. Back to the mantra - slow & steady ......😂🐌.

Might ditch Strava for a couple of runs; I’m too competitive & keep trying to beat my PB. Serves me right 😧.

Onwards & upwards, steady as I go (my husband says I have to remember how old I am (21 last time I looked 😂😂)), and what my body’s been through .....hmmmmmm.....!

Well done for getting through! I was thinking of Strava today, I love having my runs logged but it’s discouraging to be slower week 3 than 1. I know the reason why and I would rather run slow for the 3 mins then fast for 90 seconds but still.

I bet your next run is better as you will pace yourself.

Easy runs are great, but hard ones are what we learn from. Well done for persevering ⭐️ Hope the next one is more fun !

Great job digging deep. If you’re tracking, use your tracker to keep the pace down in the first half and you’ll be fine.

Sorry. I couldn’t do starva myself personally. I found it to hard. I used couch to 5k. I used Laura as personal trainer. I’m very slow at running. But I felt I need someone to continually prompt me otherwise I’d stop. Take things slower. Slow and steady wins the prize
