W3R2 tell me it gets better!

Struggled with the three minutes running today, I had to go really slowly and couldn't wait for the end. Strange thing is I went for my usual swim afterwards and managed that with no problems. Any ideas why?

It gets better.

Some days it’s great... other days it sucks. Running is the same as everything else in that respect. Run slow, let your mind wander off, think about anything but the run, that may make you enjoy it more and with that it should get easier.

It definitely gets easier. It's even easier if you hold back on the speed a little :) The first 2-3 weeks were definitely the hardest.

Mind games... concentration, tension... the unknown...each and every run makes you stronger... and if you just relax...take it slow and take it steady... you will find each run follows the one before... and you will complete them.

Definitely gets better. I didn't believe when I started as it was hard to see beyond the huffing and puffing 😂 You will soon be surprised how quickly your body adapts so keep at it! You will sure have bad runs every now and again, but the first few weeks are definitely hardest. As odd as it sounds, I found the longer runs later on much easier than intervals! Go slow and trust the program!

Thanks for the pep talk everyone. I used a different treadmill and have just found out that the speedometer was mph not kph, no wonder I was struggling!

I keep trying to tell myself at least I finished it and didn't give up.

Oh no! 😨 Yes, the important thing is that you got to the end. Not giving up will serve you well. I hope the next run turns much better x
