Week 7 run 1, tell me it gets easier!

Just finished week 7 run 1 and it was an absolute grind from start to finish. I did it without stopping but definitely slower than my last run and didn't ever feel I settled into a good rhythm. Please tell me the next ones won't feel as hard!

I found it tough, but got there just by going extra slow 🐌 I usually find that when you have a tough one the next one seems easier - famous last words!

Do prepare yourself for those longer runs from week 6 onwards to week 9 of C25K, the advice is to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, don't eat too much, especially the evening or morning the day you run, wear proper running clothing and shoes, don't run too fast as well, slow and steady is the mantra slogan here on C25K 👍.

Some runs can feel tougher than others , sometimes there's no reason . Or it could be you've not drank enough water every day . But you did it, well done😊😊

From my experience W7 and W8 were full of ups and downs. Some runs felt easy, the other ones not - even if I chose the same route. But now W9 seems to be slightly better. So keep up running and don't be afraid to slow down if it feels too much.

It gets easier.

I find there's not much rhyme or reason to it: some runs just don't take off, and then, usually when you're least expecting it, you're flying. The very worst feeling is when you've had a good run, think you've cracked it, only to find that your legs are made of lead the next time out. Very demotivating.

In my (admittedly limited) experience, the good runs will start to outweigh the bad ones. I think even experienced runners have their bad days though.

Good luck

I was breezing through until w7r1 which I found super tough but the good folks on here reassured me that you can have a bad run any time and it happens to everyone. And they were right, a couple of days rest and I never looked back _ i'm sure you'll be the same. Good luck and enjoy your running

We all get tough runs, so put it down to a tough one and look forward to the next, it was always the middle run of each week i came home believing we couldn’t do it, I found the whole programme hard and then suddenly when i was in control i found i could do what i wanted and really started to enjoy running again, You don’t have long now to get to graduation and run your own runs or find another plan to follow

Start real slow next time and good luck you are doing amazingly

Hang in there, no one said it was going to be "easy" but we can all promise you.. it's "worth it" 👍🏻😁

You are doing great, all sorts of things come together to make the odd run not so good. Keep slow and hydrated. It's not a race. Speed really doesn't matter until you decide after graduation to concentrate on that in particular. Happy running
