Wow
I can’t believe how fast it happens. Only a few weeks ago that second week doing a 90 second run nearly finished me off. This morning I did W4 first run and survived. The leg is holding up well

If you have been inspired by week 4, just wait till you complete week 5. It is altogether a different experience. Stick at it. This is the most rewarding experience I have had for years.
Thanks for the encouragement I appreciate it. Yes I did the course earlier in the year and having never run in my life I amazed myself and succeeded at it. But I broke my leg in summer so 5 months on and a stone heavier I’ve been cleared by my physio to start again and it’s just as hard as the first time! I’m trying not to remember what is in each week coming up!! Just amazed it did run 1 for this week 4 so far!! 5 minutes has never felt so long!
I was wondering what a second time round would be like. You will be improving the leg by running on it with good form.
Let's all pray you have better luck this time round. ❤👏👣👣👣👣👣👣👣
Thank you. I will be joining you on that jaunt round (a bit of) Bassenthwaite soon I hope!! Trouble is I’m scared even walking the paths let alone running. We were out walking at Rosthwaite round Castle Crag last week and every step was scary so it took ages to get 5 miles! How are you doing? X
I'm doing well, but not really moving forward. The bad weather has made it hard this week, although I am hopeful to get out to the Keswick Parkrun tomorrow - I had a personal best last week, nearly 4 seconds faster!!!
If we do cross paths on the road, you will tell it's me by the Couch to 5K Graduate vest....
Well done MelsieJay! I remember you! You lived on the Wirral, am I right?? Just read your previous post. I will watch your progress with interest. I’m entering my 8th week on the IC now and recovery seems very slow, also putting weight back on. Hopefully I’ll be starting over again one day. So pleased to hear you have got back out there. Good luck 👍🤞💪😊
Yay HELLO there. It’s so lovely to reconnect with all my chums. I feel bad that I hibernated for months but was in a terrible place mentally and only just emerging. Yes -good memory you have- i grew up on the wirral ( if I ever actually did grow up!) then was dragged kicking and screaming down south when I got married. Still don’t like it 36 yrs later and so am to be found up in the lakes once a month prior to moving completely in a few years. I’m sorry to hear you have had a long time out too. It’s so so so frustrating isn’t it when you work really hard to get to graduation, achievement, fitness and then it’s taken away so suddenly. Hang in there and try other stuff too maybe like pilates or swimming? Keep in touch x
Yes, I keep thinking about swimming, I used to swim loads and I have just won some free Pilates classes in the raffle at the Christmas fair! It is hard mentally on the IC, I’m trying not to feel too sorry for myself and I do get fed up with the discomfort but far, far worse things could happen and I’m determined to start over again eventually. So very pleased you are back out there once more - keep going! 🏃🏻♀️😊
