So....after wanting to lose weight for a long time, today I finally did something about it and did my first C25K run. I found it difficult, and had to walk through one of the running minutes, but I did it, and am feeling really proud of myself. I will reward myself with a lovely hot shower. To motivate myself to continue, I'm going to prominently display (probably in the lounge) a list of all the runs I plan to do, and cross them off triumphantly as I do each one. And treat myself to something when I get to the end - I knit, so probably some lovely yarn. I really don't enjoy exercise normally, so I think this will be a difficult process for me, but I like the fact that there's a community of other people out there, doing the same.
First run today: So....after wanting to lose... - Couch to 5K
First run today
Well done and you should quite rightly be proud of yourself!!!! I'm liking your plan for a treat when you get to the end of the programme...I might just have to join you on that. Time to think about what it will be.
I can honeslty say 5 weeks ago I didn't like exercise and could not see how i'd be able to run for 30 minutes non stop. Well I now believe that I will be able to do it! This forum is great for encouragement!
Keep posting and let us know how you get on with r2. Remember you can do the runs as many times as you need until you feel comfortable to move on. I've just done my last run twice.
Oh that's a great idea - a treat to motivate! I'll have a think too. Perhaps if you start a special Blog we can write our 'I owe me xxxx when I get to the end'
Well done on Wk1R1!
Sounds like a great idea Bxster...already thinking maybe something small from Tiffany as have saved 2 months gym membership!
Well done, the liking exercise thing will probably develop once you get into the routine of running. I like the idea of a treat at the end as I'm about to start wk9
Well done! A treat at the end is a lovely idea.
And you're right this online community is great for motivation
ooh...yarn as a well done treat. If that isn't motivation I don't know what is!
I started today too, by the way - so well done to us both!
