Back 2 weeks

Had to stop running at week 5 run 1 due to heel pain in October, was gutted but after having my gait measured and bought new running shoes which have also prevented a future knee issue which I had no idea about have just re-run week 3 run 1. Got the buzz back, no heel pain woohoo. I know I’m not where I wanted to be in terms of weeks but I’m injury free so feeling very happy. Happy Sunday everyone

Keep an eye on that heel pain; take it easy even if you think it is now cured. If the pain was right under the heel it could be the achilles tendon.

Will take it easy thank you and keep check on it.

👍the trainers may have cured it but if there is a weakness consider continueing with some gentle stretching.

Agree, I made sure I stretched before and afterwards today and will carry on stretching.

Welcome back... pain free is great. A couple of weeks back, and a couple off injured, but long term you’re going to live longer, so what’s a month? Good job today, and the heel not reacting is great news.

Thank you and exactly that. Looking forward to Tuesday now.

I did the exact same thing due to a knee injury and was really disappointed to go back two weeks, but actually I’ve wound up surpassing 30mins by week 7 so going back and consolidating was definitely worth it! Keep smashing it 😘

Keep an eye on that heel. I had the same problem a year ago and it took a while to get it fully resolved. I bought some silicone heel protectors from eBay , less than £2 , and they work wonders. Still wear them now as a precaution. And plenty of stretching before and after a run.

Thanks. Will have a look on eBay for the heel protectors.
