keep meaning to post something so here goes.Had the app for 2 years and finally decide to try it out. Over 60 and have never ran since my 20s

After my run I struggled to walk, my lower left side of my back was so painful, i was gutted. Ive tried short walks and finally I ran week 7 run 1 with no pain. Going to repeat it before I move onto run 2. Looking for back exercises to do now before I run. I honestly cant believe how I’m enjoying running

Have a look at strength and flex there may be excercises there that will help and check your shoes out maybe you are wearing them out

All the best

👍👏🎈That’s great news Tommy! Keep it slow and you will get to 9:3 without any problem! Plenty of us silver runners to prove it! Try Strength and Flex exercises on rest days.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing, minimising impact, stretching after every run and dealing with injury, all of which are pertinent to your situation.

Are you wearing proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop? They really can make a huge difference.

It sounds like you may have an asymmetry but it could also be down to running on a cambered surface.

Take care.

Enjoy your journey

I take it you did build up from week 1 and didn’t start on week 7? Look at s&f forum as WandS suggest. Also you tube - Adrienne does yoga for backs. Good luck
