Hi all, I'm ready to do run 2 week 8 and am thinking ahead. When I've graduated do I still always do the 5 mins walk or should I just do some streches before and after, what do you all do?

I always warm up and cool down, always longer than five minutes. I often finish about 2.5 km from home. I feel I need the longer time to get my kinks ironed out In winter the warm up becomes more important. Running on cold muscles is not good.

Do read the programme notes as everything is covered there. It’s called FAQ POSTS🙂👍

Warm up is essential for injury prevention. Cooldown is more about blood circulation than anything... there’s a chance of feinting if you stop too abruptly, and a few other issues, fainting on a path can cause huge injury of course. I have been known to cut the cooldown short if I’m at the house or car, but I then sit with my feet raised for a few minutes.
