What is it with r2s? Always seem harder for some reason. Started fine but what seemed to be a mid run slump just deteriorated and the last 10 minutes were really painfully hard. Heavy thighs. Heavy feet. Scuffles. Slow. First run ever that wasn’t an improvement in some way.

But, I finished. And I have one run to go until I graduate.

Hey Lapsedyogi! Happy to meet someone else at the same stage! Finished this one today too and also found it a real struggle (mostly through back pain), agree on the R2's. Are you running Mon/Wed/Friday? I find Monday after a 2 day rest I'm excited to go at a new challenge, R2 feels very much a consolidation and I feel pretty sapped, and R3 is ticking it off knowing I have a 2 day rest due, so maybe the same for you too?

Anyway massive congrats on getting through it, and hope to see you at the graduation party! 🎉😎👍 wohooo!

Thanks 😀

It varies but yeah usually mon/wed and I do yoga on a Tuesday so not sure if it’s just too much at the start of the week. Maybe I need to mix it up a bit!

So is your final r3 is Friday too? See ya at the finish line 🙌🏃‍♀️

Yep sure is! (Morning most likely) Just joined a gym as well, so may have to start spacing things out a bit more from next week. New running trainers arriving tomorrow for the event - it all gets a bit addictive this doesnt it? 😂 Oh and definately agree with UnfitNoMore below, mental strength is something that also needs building and runs like this can be more of an achievement than the easy or speedy ones.

You say that... but if it wasn’t an improvement in any other way, that means it made you dig even deeper and use your mental strength to drive you to the finish line, I’d say that’s a huge plus! Enjoy that graduation run, you’ve put in the hard work, you deserve it.

The main thing is you completed the pesky run, and now you only have one more to go before you’re up on that podium!

Looking forward to your triumphant post! You’ve got this! 👍💪

Interesting comment re W2’s. my W7R2 has just been my most difficult run heavy legs and a struggle for most of the first half I am trying to do a programme run every other day so it changes each week. I am also doing circuits on a Monday and Tai Chi on a Friday with a 5 mile walk on non run days (going for 10000 steps a day). It doesn’t feel too much and done days I have missed a run, I’ll one day, work taking me away and - my least favourite - stormy winds. But perhaps if I have another bad day I will grab a second rest day

I don’t know how much is physical and how much is mental. You psych yourself up for r1 but yes my r1 is after 2 days rest so maybe that makes a difference. Enjoy r3!
